Spring Cleaning

Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning isn’t just for closets and cabinets. Our bodies also need a regular cleanse. Spring is the perfect time for cleansing. As nature comes out of hibernation, so do our bodies. Energetically, they start to prepare for the more active phase of summer.

We have 5-6 natural routes of elimination of toxins from our bodies.

  1. Liver and gastrointestinal tract
  2. Kidneys
  3. Skin
  4. Lungs/breath

The Amazing Benefits of Shilajit

The Amazing Benefits of Shilajit

by Dr. Fareen

Shilajit is a dark, sticky, mineral pitch found in the Himalayan Mountains. It is not directly harvested from a plant, but is created from the slow decomposition of plant material over many centuries deep in the rock of the Himalayan Mountains. As it develops, it becomes a sticky, mineral infused substance, that when stimulated by the intense heat of the summer, it eventually seeps out of the rock.

How Do We Stimulate Vagal Tone?

How Do We Stimulate Vagal Tone?

by Dr. Fareen

The body has an innate and powerful ability to heal itself. For example, when we cut ourselves, as long as we support the cut with the right environment to heal, ie: we keep it clean and dry, the body will heal the cut itself. The same holds true for illness and disease. The body is self-regulating and is constantly striving for homeostasis or balance. When the body loses its ability to regulate itself back into balance, this is when disease or illness sets in. The only way to truly heal the body is to support its innate ability to heal itself and give it the environment it needs to return to a state of balance.

Autophagy. Our Body’s Natural Recycling Program

by Dr. Fareen

Our body has a beautiful and innate ability to heal and regenerate. As long as we give our body the right environment, it is self-maintaining. Autophagy is our body’s innate recycling program. It is the body’s ability to recycle cellular components that are damaged or malfunctioning. This in turn helps protect against cancer, dementia and other aging related degenerative processes. Over time our cells accumulate dead organelles, damaged proteins and oxidized particles that stagnate the body’s optimal functioning. This accelerates aging. Our bodies have developed this maintenance as a way to protect against the aging process.

Menopause

Menopause

by Dr. Fareen

MENOPAUSE…
WHAT IS YOUR BODY TRYING TO TELL YOU?

ARE YOU LISTENING?

By definition, women are said to be in menopause when they have gone one full year without a menstrual cycle. In women, the ovaries produce the majority of female hormones: estrogen, progesterone and testosterone, which control different processes in a woman’s body including her menses. To a lesser extent the adrenal glands will also make these hormones. As a woman approaches menopause, her ovaries make less and less of these hormones and she will rely on her adrenal glands to produce these hormones. This is why protecting and nourishing our adrenal glands before we move into the perimenopausal and menopausal phase of our lives is so important.
